Wynwood Walls: Miami

Thursday, March 12, 2015

Away from the glitz and glamour of South Beach is one of Miami’s hippest new neighborhoods, Wynwood Arts District.

A once forbidden and unsafe area, the Wynwood Walls have transformed the neighborhood into a street art mecca! What began as a few commissioned murals to beautify the area has morphed into the city’s only outdoor street art park, featuring more than 40 murals from a roster of world-renowned artists.

These Wynwood Walls were a large part of the motivation for my recent trip to Miami and it has to be one of the coolest thing’s I’ve seen. The neighborhood is saturated with art, so much so that you could spend all day wondering the streets and still not see everything. In fact, on your next trip to Miami take a day and wonder the streets of  The Wynwood Design District , have lunch at one of their cute cafes and immerse yourself in the culture.
