Sailing in NYC

Thursday, January 29, 2015

I’ve always loved New York, there is something about it that makes me happy. On a recent visit, my boyfriend Tyler and I shared a magical day with our good friends from the city. It started with cocktails and oysters at the coolest new spot Grand Banks. This 1942 wooden sailboat turned cocktail bar is temporarily docked at Pier 25 in Tribeca. At the end of October, Grand Banks will pack up and sail for distant lands not to return again until summer 2015. Our adventure didn’t just stop there…Little did we know we were about to be picked up by our own private sailboat for a sunset cruise on the Hudson river! Our small group of friends fit perfectly onto this restored sailboat, ready for an evening of fun, we set sail for a four hour adventure! We watched the sunset behind the Statue Of Liberty and sailed under the Brooklyn Bridge, snuggling in and looking back at the city lights.I always find it magical to be out on the water, especially when I am looking back at one of my favorite cities, surrounded by laughter and people that I love.

Such an incredible experience with Captain Eric of Narwhal Yacht Charters!
