The Maroma beach is gorgeous with it’s powdery soft sand beach and turquoise blue waters. Away from all the big resorts and only about 25 minutes from the Cancun airport, making it the perfect place for that “short weekend getaway”.
The first morning we had breakfast in El Restaurante, overlooking the beach. The señorita making homemade tortillas and quesadillas was so much fun. Coffee, Mexican hot chocolate and chilaquas left us full until mid afternoon!
We climbed the steps up to the beautiful Mirador roof to take in the view from the highest point on the property. This was my favorite spot in all of the resort, the white architecture is so chic! Little did I know, later that evening we’d be back on the rooftop for a private candlelit dinner. It was breathtaking and romantic as the sun set and the stars came out to shine over the ocean.
The beach service was some of the best I’ve had! One of my favorite things was the little carts that came by almost hourly with ice cream, popsicle treats, and even complimentary 5 minute massages!
My favorite things on the beach menu were the gazpacho and fresh fish tacos!
Late afternoon beach swings…despite it being low season, the weather was perfect. Early morning showers and then sunny skies for the rest of the day!
Ceviche platter, fish tacos, fresh guacamole and the perfect margarita — yes please!
Every evening they light the whole property with candles, making it feel very romantic (they even put candles all over your room too). We had cocktails under the twinkly lights of the beach restaurant, listening to the sounds of the ocean with our toes in the sand.
The vibe at Belmond Maroma is really calm and quiet. It’s the perfect place to get away and just do nothing but relax!
The early morning light on our balcony overlooking the ocean was magical. All the one-bedroom suites come their own private plunge pool!
On the second morning, we opted for room service. Cozied up on the couch in our bathrobes we had the sliding glass doors open to the balcony, and the ocean as our backdrop while we enjoyed a delicious breakfast!
Our Beachfront One Bedroom Suite was huge! We actually had a plunge pool, two balconies, an indoor & outdoor shower, huge bathtub, and a small gym with a bike, a ball and weights plus workout mats! It was amazing.
The Kinan Spa has been voted one of the top spas in the world and I couldn’t wait to experience everything it has to offer. The lush green setting transports you to another world where you can totally relax.
The spa is built around traditional Mayan healing practices. One of their special rituals is using tree blood oil to cleanse the rooms and spirits.
The yoga studio is above the Kinan Spa in the trees and is a beautiful place to practice. We did Hatha yoga to a soundtrack of live music.
A big shout out to the lovely spa team (pictured above).
Belmond Maroma Resort & Spa is the perfect beach / wellness destination for couple or families looking for a place to relax. I love to go to the beach and Mexico’s Rivera Maya/Tulum strip are some of my favorite beaches to escape to. I’ve traveled half way around the world to go to the beach and it’s only helped me appreciate just how beautiful the beaches are closer to home! #simplesolapproved
