Sometimes it’s nice to know you don’t need to go far to getaway. Back home in Dallas, Texas, I checked into the The Ritz-Carlton for a Luxury “Staycation”. The Ritz has long been one of my favorite Dallas hotels and the property’s recent renovations had me longing for overnight stay! From the second I step in door, I’m reminded why I love this hotel so much. Their special attention to every little detail is an art few hotels around the world have mastered.

Staycation Rule #1. Breakfast in bed is mandatory. The luxurious bath robes and elegant silver room service trays will make you feel like royalty. If you’re staying on the Club Level you can always take yourself down to the exclusive Club Lounge for a feast fit for a queen.

An iconic mainstay in the lobby of The Ritz Carlton Dallas is the infamous fresh flower arrangements that greet guests as they walk through the front door. Each Thursday morning fresh flowers are delivered and arranged in an elaborate new display.

Staycation Rule # 3. Jump around, jump around…. The fresh new rooms make you want to do just that! The contemporary makeover to the guest rooms give off both a calming and joyful energy.

Staycation Rule #4. Relaxation is key. Wine and a bubble bath are always a must – along with a trip to the Ritz’s world class spa. I had a nighttime Drift to Sleep treatment that left me in deep relaxation.

Staycation Rule # 4. Indulge yourself. The Club Lounge puts out an array of delicious snacks throughout the day to satisfy any mood. The late night snacks were too much for my sweet tooth to resist.

The Ritz Carlton is truly a staycation there’s so much to do and be pampered by at the hotel. But if you get the itch to get out and visit the art and culture just minutes away – the hotel’s Bently will take you where you want to go.

And for a little taste of Texas, each night hotel guests and Dallas locals gather in the living room of the hotel at 6pm to watch the Guacamologist whip up the best guacamole in town…perfection paired with Chef Dean Fearing’s signature margarita. This pre dinner snack prepares you for what’s to come..a bigger Taste of Texas served up at the local favorite and award winning restaurant Fearing’s. Finish out the evening with a night cap at the Rattlesnake bar, a place my friends and I frequent often.

There isn’t another experience like this in Dallas. You can guarantee I will back…very soon!
