Overwater bungalows, I think they are on just about everyones bucket-list! The Maldives in the Indian Ocean was one of the hottest destinations this year for my Honeymoon clients, so I decided to hop on a plane and fly half way across the world to see what this lover’s paradise was all about! First stop… Six Senses Laamu!
Their eco friendly, barefoot lux approach starts from the second you board the boat to their private island! They took our shoes as soon as we launched and I can honestly say I never put them on again! Salt in my hair, ocean breeze in the air – this was the start to a dream vacation!
Down the Jetty to our Overwater Pool Villa! The crazy thing? The water really is this blue.
As soon as the golf cart pulled up to our room, we were greeted with these classic bikes. They had the plates customized with our initials (such a cute and romantic little touch)!
We captured a shot of the whole island with our drone! There is so much to do here. Surfing, snorkeling, diving, spa, yoga….there is something for everyone!
I loved the villas at Six Senses Laamu so much! The open air concept was perfect, with the added touch of a roof top viewing deck to star gaze all night! And my favorite thing? It is so hard to choose! Maybe, the dining area over a glass bottom where we had breakfast every morning. But I also loved the comfy beds draped in gauzy white canopies tucked into a room with wooden slats that open to catch the breeze!
There was a lovely outdoor shower and a glass bottom bathtub!
I am not the biggest fan of snorkeling, and here I didn’t need to! Sea turtles and beautiful colorful fish would swim past our villa everyday. It was hard to ever want to leave our little hideaway with a view like this.
Taking in the romantic sunsets as we walked barefoot to dinner, watching the moon rise over the ocean and counting shooting stars from our private deck…. This truly is a lover’s paradise
We had such an amazing time during our stay at Six Senses Laamu! We can’t wait to try out the brand new Six Senses Zil Pasyon, in the Seychelles next year! Stay tuned for our next 2 stops in the Maldives!
